What's the worst injury or sickness you have seen participate at a meeting?
by RULES & REGULATIONS ini once went to a 2 day assembly with 4 wisdom teeth pulled the day before.my gums were bleeding but i stayed at the assembly with gauze inside my mouth and rinsing my mouth every 10 minutes.a brother had major back operation a couple of days before but he made to the assembly laying on a mattress in the back of the hall for 2 days.wow!
we thought we were zealous.now i look back and see how stupid we were.

Why I joined this forum...
by UpAndAtom in<div>my very first visit to this website several years ago, was because i wanted to find out what the few surprises were going to be at the sydney 2003 convention.
(i have family that are jehovahs witnesses but i am not) .
it took a few months to sink in, but i gradually came to accept the real truth that these surprises are nothing of the sort.

upandatom,
You hit the nail on the head.Everything is about the literature.Book study,Watchtower magazine,Awake magazine,Daily text, and all the 197 page books.Don't forget the Ministry School where you are taught every week how to present books not the Bible.Placing magazines where no one reads them.Leave them at hospitals, laundry rooms and cheapen GOD' S word. The counting of time and how many books, magazines were placed is a joke.Makes everyone feel that they don't do enough.Just count how many books each Witness purchases and x it by the millions and you get the idea what thier business really is. They have alot of Spiritual food allright!!!

"Deliverance at Hand" District Convention Invitation
by Elsewhere intruthsetsonefree has provided spiritual food at the proper time by emailing me these scans.... this is the little hand-bill invitation for the next district convention that we've been hearing about.
considering the fact that most jws never actually read such things before handing them out, i suspect that many people will be given these things but never actually told when and where the convention will be held!
on the back it says: "the local congregation of jehovahs witnesses invites you to attend the convention that will be held at the time and location shown here.

Wow ! What a beautiful picture ! Nothing seems to change! The beautiful houses, planting your own garden, all races getting along, ferocious animals that you can pet, abundance spilled on your lap, perfect health, spiritual paradise and employment for everyone. That's what drew me to Jehovah's Witnesses.
Wait on Jehovah ! He desires that everyone attain salvation ! Just a little longer ! Don't go beyond what is written!
I can't spend another minute at these conventions.

What Things Irritated You While A Witness?
by minimus ini used to hate it when i'd listen to brother blow give his long winded comment about how we're all supposed to do this or that----and he was barely considered a witness......we had a few elders, and especially the po who would go overtime just because they could.
the po's bookstudy always went overtime.
45 minutes into the meeting he was still on paragraph 3. and he would read every scripture including the ones quoted!!!

Being pounded to do more ! Can you spend more time in service? Can you pioneer ? Why aren't you commenting more? Why aren't there more return visits? Why aren't there more Bible studies? Why isn't there more people at the book study? We need more contributions from everyone.

LOL!! Okay I know this is a dumb question, but was it just me or did we seem to have a lot of Janitors and landscape people in that religion. I did know a couple of higher paying professions in our congregation, nurses, large business owners and a couple of retail managers. By far though, the majority was janitors and landscape people. Unless you were woman, and then it was medical transcribers and medical billing. Had tons of those and every once in a while you got someone trying to sneak a multi-level marketing deal into the congregation, but they were usually discouraged. What I was wondering though, in your time, did you know any doctors, lawyers, professors, or anything that required a degree beyond four years? I have LDS friends, and as much as I see them as a cult too, they are full of highly educated people with successful and well respected positions. I don't know any Witnesses like this, did you? love2Bwordly, If you re-read this, it states that there a lot janitors and landscapers in that religion. LDS are full of educated people with successful and well respected positions. I don't know any Witnesses like this, did you? We all know the JW frown on higher education, but this post is about how most members are not educated or can't get past being a window washer, landscaper or janitor.

Low-Key
You and I know how hard you have to work at this occupation. The elder I know that's a millionaire employs all Hispanics paying them under $8 an hour. I asked him why he doesn't pay them more since they all work 12 hr. days 6 days a week. His response,"They don't deserve more because they're lucky to have a job". In the mean time, he just sold his home foe $875,000 last month.

RULES & REGULATIONS
Hello everyone. Great Site. Been a lurker for past year. I've been inactive for past 10 years and don't plan on changing that anytime soon.
I had to jump in on this one. You should never judge anyone by what they do for a living. What makes a nurse or retail manager any smarter than a landscaper ? Just because you went to college doesn't make you smart.
I've been a landscape for 22 years and make a pretty good living. I own a $500,000 home, been on 10 cruises, travel all around ,own 3 vehicles ,and putting 2 kids thru college. I also know an elder that's a millionaire that owns a landscape business.
When we first moved in our subdivision, all these so called "Educated People" were looking to see who moved in. Well ,it was a landscaper. How did he ever get enough money to move in our neighorhood? Some of them don't even talk to us because they think what they do for a living is somehow better than mine.
What do you do for a living? Why is you occupation better than mine?
